Precision, with room for instinct.
Re\Volver was built around a simple conviction: a bar should know exactly what it is, but never make the guest feel like part of a system.

The person behind the idea
Before hospitality, Anup trained and worked in clinical genetics. The disciplines are less unrelated than they first appear: both reward specificity, repeatability and an intolerance for things that are merely close enough.
Re\Volver is where that precision is allowed to become less clinical. Drinks begin with balance and technique, but the point is still the person sitting at the bar. The best version of the evening is not always the one that was written down in advance.
A defined sense of identity
We prefer bars that feel authored. Not louder, larger or more theatrical for the sake of it, but places where the music, lighting, glassware, service and drinks all seem to have been considered by the same mind.
That is the standard we set for Re\Volver. The room stays intimate. The music leaves space for conversation. The drinks are deliberate. Detail matters because the guest notices it even when they cannot name it.
Of the city, not pasted onto it
Re\Volver opened in 2019 as Nairobi's cocktail culture was beginning to move beyond sweetness as a default. Since then the city has become more curious about balance, technique, premium local spirits and ingredients that belong here.
We use Kenyan and African ingredients when they make the drink better, not simply because they make a story easier to tell. Local should feel natural, not ornamental.
Jeff Ayacko
Our bartender Jeff has another job description that does not fit neatly on a drinks menu: he is the current Kenya super-heavyweight boxing champion.
We rather like the contrast. At Re\Volver, strength is generally expressed with considerably smaller movements.
