We respect our guests' privacy. This policy explains which information our website and booking systems use, why we need it, and how to contact us about it.

01

Who we are

RE\VOLVER is a cocktail bar in Spring Valley, Nairobi, operated by Blind Tiger Hospitality LLP (referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”). We are responsible for deciding how personal information submitted to our website and reservation services is used.

For privacy enquiries, contact ad@blindtiger.co.ke or telephone +254 790 040 550.

02

Where this policy applies

This policy covers the RE\VOLVER website, table reservations, booking-management links, membership and event enquiries, operational payment requests, and booking communications through email and the WhatsApp Business Platform, including our Meta application named Bookings Notifications.

Other services and third-party websites, such as WhatsApp or payment-provider sites, have their own privacy notices.

03

Information we collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may process:

  • Contact details: your name, telephone number and any email address you choose to provide.
  • Reservation details: requested date, time, number of guests, seating choice, booking reference, booking status, amendments and cancellations.
  • Service information: special requests or notes voluntarily supplied when booking, and relevant communications with us.
  • Payment information: the M-Pesa number used for a deposit, deposit amount, payment status, transaction references and related records. We do not ask for or receive your M-Pesa PIN.
  • Messaging preferences: whether you opted to receive WhatsApp booking notifications and the messages or delivery-status information needed to administer them.
  • Website and security information: technical information such as IP address, browser or device details, request logs and information stored in your browser to support site functions and security.

Please avoid including sensitive personal information in an optional booking note unless it is necessary for us to accommodate your visit.

04

How we use information

We use this information to take and manage reservations; confirm, amend or cancel bookings; check availability and deposits; send essential service messages; respond to enquiries; help our team provide appropriate hospitality; prevent misuse; maintain service security; and meet accounting or legal obligations.

For larger parties, our booking system uses the party size to determine whether a refundable-against-bill deposit is required. This is a booking rule, not automated profiling.

We do not treat a reservation or a WhatsApp booking-notification opt-in as consent to receive unrelated marketing. Any promotional communications require an appropriate separate basis or consent.

05

WhatsApp and Meta

If you opt in to WhatsApp notifications, we send reservation-related messages to the number you provide using the WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API) through Meta. Messages may include confirmation status, reservation details, deposit instructions, cancellation information, a private booking-management link, and directions for confirmed bookings.

Your telephone number and the information contained in messages are processed by Meta to deliver them and provide platform functions. You can decline WhatsApp notifications when booking and still use our reservation service. WhatsApp's own terms and privacy practices also apply to your use of the app.

We may use the WhatsApp Business app to respond to messages initiated by guests. We do not use guest booking numbers for unsolicited promotional WhatsApp campaigns.

06

M-Pesa and payments

Where a reservation requires a deposit, we may initiate an M-Pesa payment request using the telephone number provided. The payment process is handled through Safaricom's M-Pesa service. We keep the amount, payment status and necessary transaction references to reconcile the booking, handle queries and maintain records. Your M-Pesa PIN is entered only through Safaricom's own payment process, not our website.

07

Service providers and disclosures

Our website and booking services use Cloudflare for hosting, security and database infrastructure; Meta/WhatsApp for opted-in reservation messaging; Resend for booking-related email delivery; and Safaricom M-Pesa for deposit payments. Information is shared with these providers to the extent needed to deliver those services. Our authorised staff may also access relevant booking and communication records.

We may disclose information where required by law, to protect legitimate rights, or to investigate a security incident. We do not sell our reservation database to third parties.

08

International processing

Some technology providers may process or store information outside Kenya. Where this occurs, we seek to use appropriate contractual, technical or other safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.

09

Browser storage and external content

We use essential browser session storage to remember that a visitor has acknowledged the website's age notice and to pass reservation confirmation details between the booking form and confirmation page. The site also loads website fonts from Adobe Fonts and may contain links to third-party services such as Instagram, WhatsApp and Google Maps. Those services may receive technical connection data under their own privacy policies.

We will update this notice if we add new analytics or advertising technologies that materially change how visitor data is processed.

10

How long information is kept

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for reservations, guest service, accounting, legal obligations, dispute resolution and security. Retention periods can differ by record type. When information is no longer required, we delete it or take steps to make it non-identifying, subject to legal and operational requirements.

11

Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, including Kenya's Data Protection Act, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where it applies, or request deletion of information that we no longer have a lawful reason to retain.

Email ad@blindtiger.co.ke with the subject Privacy Request. For specific deletion instructions, see Request data deletion. We may ask you to verify your identity before disclosing or changing personal information.

You may also contact Kenya's Office of the Data Protection Commissioner if you have an unresolved concern.

12

Security and changes

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information, including restricted staff access and secured service connections. No online service can promise absolute security. Do not share your private booking-management link with people who should not be able to manage your reservation.

We may update this policy when our services or legal requirements change. A revised date will be shown on this page.
